Having recently returned from the Sotheby’s International Realty 2011 Global Networking Event in Miami, FL, I’m even more excited to be affiliated with this incredible international company. Being with over 1100 Sotheby’s agents from around the world was a true testament to the power of the Sotheby’s International Realty network. Many new and cutting edge resources were introduced to us at the conference that will benefit our sellers and buyers. One exciting addition to the Sotheby’s International Realty website is the ability to search by school district, which supports my belief that it is one of the most important search criteria when moving to a new city or different area of town.
The opening speaker of the conference was Aron Ralston, known as the man who cut off his own arm in a Utah canyon. He tells a gripping, yet inspiring story about his 127 hours being trapped by a boulder. The focus of his message was facing the “boulders” or difficulties in our life. Although he was faced with a life or death situation, I know all of us in the audience were forced to think about the boulders we may have faced, or are currently facing, in our own lives. What a timely topic to deliver to 1100 people that have faced the uncertainty of the real estate and housing market over the last few years. I know it put it into a different perspective for me and I look forward to seeing his movie for the full story.
