Education Guide

When moving to a new city or from one neighborhood to another, one of the most important search criteria is by school district.  As a Realtor selling throughout Atlanta’s best school districts, I realize how important a good school district can be for families, but also for a sound investment.  With so many websites for schools and their rankings available online, the choices can be overwhelming.  The focus of this site is the top public elementary, middle, and high schools in the Atlanta City Schools, East Cobb County Schools, and the North Fulton County Schools and the neighborhoods throughout each.  I’ll also focus on many of the popular private schools throughout these areas.

One of my favorite sources for Atlanta schools is a newspaper style publication printed each year by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The Education Guide is a directory of public and private schools in the 10-county metro area with their standardized test scores.  The elementary and middle schools are listed with their Georgia CRCT (Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests) scores, state-mandated end-of-year assessments. The high schools are categorized by their SAT exam scores. Each private school is listed with the grades offered, enrollment numbers, tuition costs, and other pertinent information.

Throughout this blog, I’ve listed the schools with the top scores to make it easier for you in your search for the perfect school.  The elementary schools are listed in order from highest CRCT scores to lowest for the 4th grade results. The middle schools are listed in order from the highest CRCT scores to lowest for the 8th grades results. The high schools are listed in order from highest to lowest SAT exam scores.  This is not the complete list of schools in each area, but a focus on those schools with the top test scores.

For your own copy of the Education Guide printed by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, email me at and provide your mailing address and it will promptly be sent to you, or let me know if there is a school you’re interested in that’s not listed here and I’ll be glad to provide you with any information needed.
